Lots of new and exciting things are happening at Sparkman Orthodontics! To give more insight on what our office is all about, we decided to create a blog. Our blog will be updated every 2 weeks so be sure tocheck it out! To start us off, we want to introduce our doctors to you. We asked Dr. Sparkman some questions to help you get to know him better.
1. Where did you grow up?
Pampa, Texas
2. Why did you decide to go into the orthodontic field?
I was exposed to Dentistry through my father. But I was exposed to orthodontics when I worked for an Orthodontist in
College Station while I was attending Texas A&M University. I loved connecting with the patients. I was hooked!
3. Do you have any pets?
The Sparkman house is a zoo! We have a dachshund named “Hundley” and a golden doodle named “Ivy.” My wife, Ashley, has
some water frogs. My 12-year-old son, Cannon, has an Axolotl (a type of Salamander).
In addition, we have five other fish tanks with a variety of fifty other freshwater fish. If you want to know how to set up a fish tank, just call one of my sons, John Kyle, and Reagan. They are experts on the whole process!
4. What do you like to do for fun outside of work?
My wife and I have six children. Most of my time outside of work is spent cheering on “Team Sparkman” in their various
activities! When we have any “free” time, we will play golf, fish, or go snow skiing. If I could do one thing for a day… I would
snowboard!!
5. What is your favorite movie/TV show?
I am going to go with Maverick! Easily the best movie I have seen in ten years! The Office is the best TV show ever made!
6. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Blue Bell “Cookies and Cream” is the best. However, Braums Strawberry ice cream is particularly good!
7. What kind of music do you listen to?
Morgan Wallen is dominating my playlist right now!!
8. What has been the most rewarding thing of your career so far?
First: I love serving the community that raised me. Nostalgia, Connection, Community are all words that define me.
Second: I love serving patients with Dr. Lyons and Dr. Clifton. They are two of my best friends and I love working with
them.
Third: We have the best team anywhere… They always make me smile!!
9. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
My dream trip is to cruise the Nile and explore Egypt and the pyramids… with maybe a side trip to the Holy Land!
10. Tell us a fun fact most people don’t know about you.
During my senior year at Texas A&M, I was elected to serve as a Yell Leader. Most fun year of my life!! Gig em!
